I was working as a Design Engineer in a Japanese MNC from Manufacturing sector for four years upon completing my Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing). With my acquired work experiences, I developed interests in a Sales role that requires technical manufacturing knowledge. In other words, I wanted to embark on a new career that enabled me to bridge Engineering ideas for better product innovation in terms of technical quality and commercial. Fortunately, I was shortlisted for a Sales Engineer position at Panasonic Factory Solutions Asia Pacific and officially joined the company in year 2018.

As a Sales Engineer, the role fits my job expectations of having to manage sales as well as product application and technical specifications; hence it builds up my confidence level to be able to advise our valued customers about our products’ capabilities with viable solutions during the proposition stage.

As for the work environment in Panasonic Factory Solutions Asia Pacific, I really enjoy the cohesive teamwork within my department as well as across other departments. This exposes me to co-working opportunities with other colleagues. The tremendous support and mentorship from my superiors pose a motivating drive in attaining job satisfaction and propels me to excel with continuous contributions to the company.

The role of a Sales Engineer, requires me to be speedy, decisive and proactive most of the time, as we tend to work around tight deadlines in order to fulfil our valued customers’ requirements, thereby clinching win-win deals in a timely manner. However, amidst these work commitments, I always make an effort to have a good balance between my work and my social life. From my perspective, having an effective time management between work and play is crucial too!
